Privacy Policy for Apollo Reader

Effective Date: September 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to Apollo Reader (the “App”), developed and published by Jascha McDonald (“Developer”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

Apollo Reader is designed to operate locally on your device. The App does not require an account and is designed so that your books, documents, application data, and diagnostic information do not need to be transmitted to us or stored on our servers.

1. Information Collected by the App

Apollo Reader does not collect, transmit, or store personal information on servers operated by us.

The App does not require you to create an account and does not collect information such as your:

The App does not use advertising, analytics, tracking, or profiling services.

2. Book Files and File Access

Apollo Reader allows you to open, organize, and read book files and other supported document formats stored on your device.

On Android, Apollo Reader uses Android’s Storage Access Framework (SAF). When you choose a file or folder, Android’s system file picker allows you to decide which files or directories the App may access.

Apollo Reader does not request unrestricted access to all files on your device.

Files and folders that you choose remain stored in their existing locations. The App may read those files as necessary to display, organize, and otherwise provide its reading functionality.

Your books, documents, and other user-selected files are not uploaded to us, transmitted to our servers, or otherwise collected by us.

We do not have remote access to your book library or other files on your device.

3. Local Application Data

Apollo Reader creates and maintains data on your device as necessary for the operation of the App.

This may include an application database, preferences, configuration information, file references, and other information required for the App to function.

This information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us.

Depending on your operating system and device settings, uninstalling or resetting the App may delete some or all locally stored application data.

Your original book and document files remain under your control unless you separately delete them yourself.

4. Crash Logs and Diagnostic Information

Apollo Reader may create crash logs or diagnostic information locally on your device when an error or crash occurs.

These crash logs are not automatically transmitted to us and are not stored on servers operated by us.

We do not use a remote crash-reporting or analytics service to receive these logs.

If you voluntarily provide a crash log, diagnostic information, or other information to us when requesting technical support, we will use the information you provide for the purpose of responding to your request or investigating the reported problem.

5. Internet Transmission

Apollo Reader does not transmit your books, documents, locally stored application database, crash logs, or other App-generated information to servers operated by us.

The operating system, device manufacturer, Google Play, Microsoft Store, or another platform through which you obtain or operate the App may independently process information in connection with downloading, installing, licensing, updating, securing, or using their services.

Such processing is controlled by the relevant third party and is subject to that party’s own privacy policy and terms.

6. Advertising, Analytics, and Tracking

Apollo Reader does not contain third-party advertising.

Apollo Reader does not use third-party analytics services to monitor how you use the App.

Apollo Reader does not use tracking technologies for advertising or profiling.

If these practices change in a future version of the App, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

7. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell personal information.

We do not share personal information collected through Apollo Reader with advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers, or other third parties because Apollo Reader does not transmit such information to us.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Because Apollo Reader’s application data is stored locally on your device rather than on our servers, we do not maintain a server-side copy of that data.

You can generally remove locally stored App data by using controls provided by your operating system or by uninstalling the App.

Your original books, documents, and other user-selected files remain under your control and are not stored by us.

9. Communications With the Developer

Apollo Reader does not collect your email address through the normal operation of the App.

If you voluntarily contact us by email, your email address, message, and any information you choose to include will necessarily be processed in order for us to receive and respond to your communication.

Such communications may also be processed by the email service providers used by you and by us and are subject to the applicable providers’ privacy practices.

We will use information contained in support communications for purposes such as responding to your request, troubleshooting problems, or maintaining reasonable records of correspondence.

10. Children’s Privacy

Apollo Reader does not knowingly collect personal information from children or adults through the operation of the App.

Because Apollo Reader does not transmit personal information to us during normal use, we do not knowingly maintain personal information concerning children through the App.

11. Security

Apollo Reader is designed to process your books, documents, and operational data locally on your device.

The security and privacy of locally stored information therefore also depend on the security of your device and operating system.

We recommend keeping your device and operating system up to date and using appropriate device security measures.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if Apollo Reader’s features, functionality, or data practices change.

If a future version of Apollo Reader begins collecting, transmitting, sharing, or otherwise processing information in a way that is not described in this Privacy Policy, we will update this policy and make any disclosures required by applicable law or applicable app-store policies.

The Effective Date shown at the top of this Privacy Policy indicates when it was most recently revised.
