End User License Agreement for Apollo Reader

Effective Date: September 5, 2026

This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legal agreement between you (“you” or “User”) and Jascha McDonald (“Developer”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) concerning your use of Apollo Reader (the “App”).

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Apollo Reader, you agree to be bound by this Agreement.

If you do not agree to this Agreement, do not install or use the App.

1. License

Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, Developer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to install and use Apollo Reader on compatible devices that you own or control.

Apollo Reader is licensed, not sold.

Developer retains all rights in the App that are not expressly granted to you under this Agreement.

2. Purpose of the App

Apollo Reader is software for opening, organizing, viewing, and reading books, documents, archives, images, and other supported file formats provided or selected by the User.

Developer does not provide, host, sell, distribute, or make available books, ebooks, comics, or other third-party copyrighted reading material through Apollo Reader.

The App is a reader and library-management tool for files that you independently obtain and choose to access using the App.

3. Your Files and Content

You retain all rights you may have in books, documents, images, archives, and other files that you use with Apollo Reader.

Developer does not claim ownership of your files or their contents.

Your files are stored and processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to Developer through the normal operation of Apollo Reader.

Where supported by the operating system, Apollo Reader accesses files or directories that you select and grant the App permission to access.

On Android, this access is provided through Android’s Storage Access Framework or other applicable system-provided file-selection mechanisms.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to possess, access, view, or otherwise use any files that you open with Apollo Reader.

Apollo Reader is not intended to facilitate copyright infringement, piracy, or the unauthorized distribution of copyrighted works.

4. Acceptable Use

You may use Apollo Reader only in accordance with applicable law and this Agreement.

Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you may not:

Nothing in this Agreement restricts rights that cannot legally be restricted under applicable law.

5. Ownership of Apollo Reader

Apollo Reader, including its source code, software architecture, user interface, graphics, branding, documentation, and other materials supplied by Developer, is owned by Developer or the applicable licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws.

This Agreement does not transfer ownership of Apollo Reader to you.

This Agreement also does not give Developer any ownership interest in books, documents, images, archives, or other content supplied or selected by you.

Copyrights, trademarks, characters, artwork, text, logos, and other intellectual property contained within files viewed using Apollo Reader remain the property of their respective owners.

6. Local Application Data

Apollo Reader may create and maintain information on your device that is necessary for the operation of the App.

This may include an application database, settings, preferences, configuration information, file references, cache data, crash logs, and other operational information.

Such information is stored locally on your device and is not automatically transmitted to Developer.

Your use of Apollo Reader is also subject to the Apollo Reader Privacy Policy.

7. File Access

Apollo Reader may require permission to access files or directories selected by you in order to provide its reading and library functionality.

On platforms that provide system-controlled file-access mechanisms, Apollo Reader may use those mechanisms to obtain access to files or directories that you explicitly select.

Granting Apollo Reader access to a file or directory does not transfer ownership of that file or its contents to Developer.

Developer does not obtain remote access to files solely because you grant the App local permission to read them.

8. Updates and Changes

Developer may provide updates, bug fixes, compatibility updates, improvements, security fixes, or new versions of Apollo Reader.

Updates may modify, add, replace, or remove features.

Developer does not guarantee that any particular feature, file format, interface, operating-system version, or version of Apollo Reader will remain supported indefinitely.

Where an update is distributed through Google Play, the Microsoft Store, or another application marketplace, installation and delivery of that update may also be governed by the terms and settings of that platform.

9. Supported File Formats

Apollo Reader may support various book, document, archive, image, or other file formats.

Support for a particular format does not guarantee compatibility with every file using that format.

Files may differ in structure, encoding, compression, formatting, digital-rights-management restrictions, or other characteristics that affect compatibility.

Developer does not guarantee that Apollo Reader will successfully open, display, interpret, or preserve every file.

10. Third-Party and Open-Source Components

Apollo Reader may include or rely upon third-party or open-source software components.

Some components may be governed by separate licence terms.

Where a separate licence applies to a particular component, the terms of that licence govern that component to the extent required by the applicable licence.

Nothing in this Agreement is intended to restrict rights granted to you under an applicable open-source software licence.

11. Third-Party Content

Apollo Reader allows you to view content created, published, distributed, or owned by third parties.

Developer does not own or control such third-party content merely because Apollo Reader is capable of displaying it.

Developer is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, availability, suitability, copyright status, licensing status, or content of files supplied by users or third parties.

Any rights in third-party content remain with the applicable rights holders.

12. Backups and Risk of Data Loss

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of books, documents, databases, and other files that are important to you.

Although Apollo Reader is designed to access and process files locally, software errors, operating-system changes, storage-device failures, permission changes, file corruption, user actions, or other circumstances may result in the loss of application data or access to files.

Developer does not guarantee that locally stored App data can always be recovered.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apollo Reader is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

Developer does not warrant that Apollo Reader will:

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits any warranty, guarantee, consumer right, or other protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or similar damages arising from or relating to the use of, or inability to use, Apollo Reader.

This includes, where permitted by law, damages resulting from:

Developer will not be responsible for loss of or damage to books, documents, or other User-provided files except to the extent that such liability cannot legally be excluded.

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

15. No Responsibility for User Content

Developer does not monitor, control, approve, or endorse books, documents, or other content opened using Apollo Reader.

You are responsible for the files you choose to access and for complying with any copyright, licence, contractual, or other restrictions applicable to those files.

The ability of Apollo Reader to open a particular file does not constitute a representation that possession or use of that file is lawful.

16. Termination

This Agreement remains effective until terminated.

You may terminate this Agreement at any time by uninstalling Apollo Reader and ceasing to use it.

Your rights under this Agreement may terminate if you materially violate its terms.

Upon termination, you must cease using Apollo Reader.

Termination of this Agreement does not transfer ownership of your books, documents, or other files to Developer.

Any provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including provisions relating to ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and third-party rights, will continue to apply.

17. Google Play and Microsoft Store

If you obtain Apollo Reader through Google Play, the Microsoft Store, or another application marketplace, your acquisition and use of the App may also be subject to the applicable marketplace’s terms and conditions.

Google, Microsoft, and other marketplace operators are not parties to this Agreement merely because they distribute Apollo Reader, except to the extent that their own applicable terms provide otherwise.

Platform providers may independently provide services relating to downloading, licensing, installation, updates, security, payments, or operation of their respective stores.

Those services are governed by the applicable platform provider’s own terms and policies.

18. Privacy

Apollo Reader is designed to operate primarily through local processing.

Details concerning the App’s handling of information, local data, file access, and crash logs are described in the Apollo Reader Privacy Policy.

By using Apollo Reader, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to review the Privacy Policy.

19. Consumer Rights and Applicable Law

This Agreement is intended to operate to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in this Agreement is intended to waive, exclude, or restrict any mandatory consumer rights or statutory protections that apply to you and that cannot legally be waived, excluded, or restricted by contract.

To the extent that a provision of this Agreement conflicts with mandatory applicable law, the mandatory law will control to the extent of that conflict.

20. Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law or, where necessary, severed from this Agreement.

The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

21. No Waiver

A failure by Developer to enforce any provision of this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of that provision or of Developer’s right to enforce it later.

22. Entire Agreement

This Agreement, together with the Apollo Reader Privacy Policy and any licences applicable to third-party components included in the App, constitutes the agreement between you and Developer concerning your use of Apollo Reader.

23. Changes to This Agreement

Developer may update this Agreement when necessary to reflect changes to Apollo Reader, applicable law, distribution requirements, or business practices.

An updated Agreement will identify its effective date.

Where required by applicable law, additional notice or consent will be provided before materially different terms become effective.
